Story behind the work
This work is a contemporary interpretation of a classic vanitas painting, exploring the hidden toxicity within relationships and environments. At its center lies a wild boar skull—a symbol of depleted vitality and spiritual exhaustion. The green vines and lush houseplants coiling around it may seem vibrant at first glance, but in reality, they represent a parasitic dynamic: they thrive and bloom at the expense of another, suffocating everything in their path. The three apples in the foreground symbolize our pure dreams and aspirations, trapped within this poisonous embrace.
